Speaking in a radio interview, Warden Condes revealed that the governor’s marching orders are clear: clean up the facility and address long-standing problems, including illegal activities, unauthorized inmate communications, and other persistent issues inside the jail.
A veteran in law enforcement, Condes has served in various key positions, including Battalion Commander of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB) 12, Chief of Police of both Koronadal City and Tacurong City, Intelligence Operative under the PNP’s Anti-Terrorism program, and Commander of the 1206th Provincial Mobile Group in Sarangani. He also held leadership roles in Alabel and Malapatan Police Stations, the Provincial Mobile Force – South Cotabato PPO, and began his career as a junior officer with the PNP Special Action Force. A Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) cadet by training, he is also a licensed registered nurse.
With his vast background in operations and intelligence, Condes is expected to enforce stricter discipline, strengthen reforms, and introduce humane and rehabilitative programs to ensure the proper management of the facility and the welfare of Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs).
