South Cotabato took a bold step toward becoming a digital and economic hub as Governor Tamayo and partners led the groundbreaking of the Tupi IT Park, a landmark project that promises to generate 20,000 to 30,000 jobs for local graduates and professionals.
The PEZA-registered IT zone will rise with four 10-storey towers designed to house BPO firms, technology enterprises, startups, and innovation hubs. Once operational, it is expected to position South Cotabato as a major player in Mindanao’s growing ICT and BPO industries.
Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr. said the IT Park directly responds to the need for quality employment opportunities in the province.
“We trained our youth not just to work as laborers but to find professional jobs. If we don’t start this project, who will? This endeavor will generate around 20,000 to 30,000 jobs for our young professionals. That is our direction and inspiration,” Tamayo stressed, while commending the commitment of the Matutum Holdings and Development Corporation, developer of the project.
DICT Regional Director Ibrahim Guiapar Jr. lauded the IT Park as a driver of digital transformation and inclusive growth, while MinDA Area Management Office Chief Gerardo Ramon Cesar B. Reynaldo, representing Secretary Leo Tereso Magno, called it a “platform of possibilities” that nurtures talent, attracts investments, and empowers communities.
