South Cotabato Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. has been conferred as an Honorary Member by the Philippine Society of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineers (PSABE) in recognition of his outstanding contributions to agricultural development.
The distinction was awarded during the 37th Philippine Agricultural Engineering Week, the 22nd International Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering Conference, and the 75th PSABE Annual National Convention held in Koronadal City.
Governor Tamayo, who served as keynote speaker during the event, was cited for his strong leadership in advancing agriculture through innovation, sustainability, and inclusive programs that continue to uplift farmers and strengthen the province’s agri-based economy.
In its citation, PSABE highlighted the governor’s enduring impact on the sector, noting that his initiatives have fostered progress and transformation in agricultural and biosystems engineering.
In his keynote message, Tamayo emphasized the importance of collaboration among engineers, policymakers, and farmers in building a resilient and productive agricultural system. He highlighted the role of science-based and innovative solutions in ensuring food security and driving rural development.
“Be proud, dahil kayo ang susi sa tuloy-tuloy na development ng ating mga komunidad,” Tamayo said.
The recognition marks another milestone in the governor’s continuing efforts to promote inclusive growth and modernize agriculture in South Cotabato and beyond.
