South Cotabato Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr. was re-elected as National Chairman of the Union of Local Authorities of the Philippines (ULAP) during the organization's 110th National Executive Board Meeting and Election of Officers.
Governor Tamayo, who also serves as National President of the League of Provinces of the Philippines (LPP), secured the trust and confidence of local government leaders from across the country, earning another term as ULAP Chairman for 2026–2029.
ULAP serves as the umbrella organization of the country's ten major leagues of local officials, namely the League of Barangays of the Philippines (LNB), Vice Mayors' League of the Philippines (VMLP), League of Municipal Mayors of the Philippines (LMMP), Philippine Councilors League (PCL), Philippine Board Members League of the Philippines (PBLMP), League of Vice Governors of the Philippines (LVGP), League of Provinces of the Philippines (LPP), League of Cities of the Philippines (LCP), National Movement of Young Legislators (NMYL), and 4L Philippines.
In his message, Governor Tamayo expressed gratitude for the continued trust bestowed upon him by fellow local government leaders. He emphasized the importance of strengthening local governance, promoting unity among local government units, and advancing reforms that empower communities nationwide.
His re-election reflects the confidence of local officials in his leadership and his commitment to championing the interests of local governments at the national level.
The achievement also brings pride to South Cotabato and Mindanao, highlighting the province's growing role in shaping policies and programs that support effective and responsive local governance throughout the Philippines.
Under Governor Tamayo's leadership, ULAP is expected to continue advocating for greater local autonomy, stronger intergovernmental collaboration, and programs that enhance the capacity of local government units to deliver quality public service to their constituents.
