LGU Tupi: FREE Secondary Education, Senior Citizens to get monthly pensions!

The local government unit of Tupi, South Cotabato announced recently that high school education within the municipality would be now FREE starting this month of June or this coming school year 2011-2012.

According to Hon. Mayor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr., no amount shall be collected upon enrollment and  fees for Parents Teachers Association (PTA) will now also be abolished and that all school needs including electrification, security, etc. will now be subsidized by the local government. 
Aside from this, qualified senior citizens with no landholding and those who are not supported by any of his/her family members shall recieve a  pension amounting to Php 500.00 each month.

Good news! Tupinians should be thankful, a first in the province.
