5 Things I Look Forward To In This Year's Hinugyaw Festival in Koronadal

Hinugyaw Festival 2015 in Koronadal City has began.
I attended the opening ceremony this morning and just like the past years, it never failed to entertain and amuse me. The opening ceremony held at the South Cotabato Sports Complex was very colorful and showcased exceptional talents from the city. I particularly enjoyed the Drumline Competition participated in by a total of six (6) contingents coming from all over South Cotabato. I was also moved by the singing of the city's 75th Anniversary commemorative theme song and the tribute given to the late Sultan Kudanding Camsa, the first mayor of Koronadal.
15th Hinugyaw Festival
The 15th Hinugyaw Festival in Koronadal City runs from January 5-10
I also enjoyed taking pictures of people who participated in the Grand Parada. Koronadaleños were in festive mood and I felt everyone's excitement for the rest of the upcoming activities of this year's week-long Hinugyaw Festival.

Here are 5 other things I look forward to in this year's edition of  Hinugyaw Festival and the celebration of Koronadal's 75th Foundation Anniversary.

1. Nightly Concerts / Celebrity Shows
I'm not really into attending this kind of events but with music icons like Freddie Aguilar, Sitti Navarro, Nyoy Volante and many other celebrities coming over for a FREE show, I'm loving Koronadal more.

2. Grander Search for Lakambini ng Koronadal 2015 Coronation Night
I'm excited to find out who will bring home the crown this year from among the ten (10) lovely candidates. Someone told me that the show will be grander this year.
I think one of these three ladies will win the crown..  :)
3. Watch Mixed Martial Arts Fights, Up Close
I missed this last year and I'm glad the city government of Koronadal is staging the event again as part of Hinugyaw Festival 2015.

4. Pyesta Kolon D'tal
This is the main highlight of Hinugyaw Festival. The City’s 75th Foundation Anniversary Website defined this event as "a night of inter-tribe street revelry culminating in a showcase of color, pomp, and pageantry to the beat and rhythm of authentic cultural expressions in music and dances with the infusion of creativity and artistry that defines what truly Koronadal is now while carrying with it the warmth, hospitality, competence, character, creativity, artistry, charm and meaningful strength started by the settlers in the 1940s." I'm really excited.

5. Experience Binayle and Disco sa Kalye (for the first time)
I think its about time to showcase my skills in dancing, and Alunan Avenue would be a perfect venue.. :)

See you in Koronadal!
