SOX Tourism hold tribute for late master weaver Lang Dulay

The Department of Tourism in Region 12 (DOT-12)  held a tribute for the late Gawad Manlilikha ng Bayan or National Living Treasure awardee, Be Lang Dulay on Wednesday, May 13, 2015. Family members, LGU officials, friends and tourism stakeholders attended the activity held at her Manlilikha ng Bayan Center in Sitio Tukolefa, Brgy. Lamdalag, Lake Sebu, South Cotabato.

In her tribute, Regional Director Nelly Nita Dillera of  DOT-12 praised Lang Dulay for her unrivaled talent in weaving the Tnalak which is already known worldwide and  has become one of the icons for the Tboli tribe and of South Cotabato. RD Dillera also recognized her contributions to the tourism in Region 12.

Gensan-based Teatro Ambahanon  performed during the tribute with their piece entitled "Tnalak" sung by Maan Chua. Watch the video.

Lake Sebu Mayor Antonio Fungan delivering his tribute to the late Tboli princess and master weaver. 
He announced that Lang Dulay's legacy will continue and that her birthday will be observed as a local holiday in Lake Sebu starting next year.
