A photographer from Davao City is the big winner of the recently concluded Zoom the Vroom Photo Contest, the photography competition of the recently concluded Koronadal Motorcycle Festival.

Shem Torres Longakit bagged the top prizes of the competition participated by photographers from different parts of the country who attended and covered the Koronadal Motorcycle Festival held from April 22-29, 2017 with the successful Guinness World Record attempts of the City of Koronadal for most motorcycle engines started simultaneously and most motorcycle horns sounded simultaneously as among the highlights.

His photo entries entitled "First Time" and "Happiest Day" were adjudged 1st Place and 2nd Place, respectively.

His other entry entitled "Center of Attraction" was also among the five (5) photos chosen by Koronadal City Mayor Peter Miguel for the Mayor's Choice Award.

Considered by many as one of the top caliber Davao-based photographers, Shem Longakit started with photography using film based cameras back in 1998. In 2012, he founded the Camera Club of Southern Philippines ( CCSP ) in Davao City.

He has also won in several photo competitions including Kadayawan Festival Photo Contest in 2001 (1st Prize), the 1st National Drag Racing Photo Contest of Shell Philippines in 2005 (1st Prize), and the Standard Chartered Bank National Photo Contest in 2012 (2nd Prize), among others.

Meanwhile, the entries of Koronadal-based photographers Dante Maquiling, Ric Samanion and Mark Abella placed 3rd, 4th and 5th respectively.

The Zoom the Vroom Photo Contest gathered a total of 84 entries and was participated by 19 photographers.
