With the theme "Reliving History, Bridging Cultures in Harmony", the Municipality of Surallah, one of South Cotabato's most progressive towns is all set for the celebration of its 55th Founding Anniversary and the 1st Surbetube Festival this coming June 20-24.
Exciting activities are being prepared by LGU-Surallah for the 5-day celebration. These includes the civic, military and thematic parade to be followed by the opening program and drum and lyre competitions on June 20; farmers day and job fair on June 21; a tree growing activity, mass wedding and employees night on June 22; offroad challenge, indigenous peoples' day and cheerdance competition on June 23; and the anniversary program and launching of the 1st Surbetube Festival on June 22.

According to the rationale of Surallah's new festival released online, the term Surbetube comes from the word 'sur" which means south, and two Tboli words "be" which means "at" and "tube" meaning "the riverbanks".
Surbetube Festival would showcase the rich and unique culture of the original inhabitants of Surallah and aims to sustain the preservation, promotion and development of arts, culture and traditions to foster the essence of peace and harmony among its people.
