PBEd, the business community’s response to the need for sustained and strategic education reform in the Philippines is currently implementing YOUTHWORKS PH in partnership with USAID.

YouthWorks PH is a five year nationwide private sector led initiative which engages industry, academe, government and other education and employment stakeholders in improving human capital development in the Philippines, especially those with limited opportunities for upskilling and gainful employment.

YouthWorks PH aims to increase access of Filipino youth not in education, employment or training (NEET) to quality training and employment opportunities.

The Philippine Statistics Authority revealed that 22.1% of the total youth population in the Philippines are Out-of-School-Youth (OSY) or unemployed. The partnership between PBEd and TESDA together with other government agencies aims to bring down this number by working with industries and academe to formulate training programs that would provide skills training to the youth which will enable them to access opportunities for employment.

Further, the PBeD members together with TESDA XII Regional Director Rafael Abrogar II, discussed and identified touchpoints and synergies with the current priorities and initiatives of the agency.

The launching of the project will be in General Santos City this June 2019.
