Read below the statement of LGU-Gensan as posted at the Official Facebook Page of City Mayor Ronnel C. Rivera:

Magandang GenSan!
Earlier this week we announced the cancellation of some of the major events related to the upcoming celebration of Kalilangan 2020 as part of our safety precautions due to the possible threats of the Novel Coronavirus Acute Respiratory Disease (2019-nCoV ARD).
After careful consideration and further consultation with officials of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Department of Health (DOH), your local government unit has decided to CANCEL ALL EVENTS IN RELATION TO THE KALILANGAN 2020 CELEBRATION.
We will still proceed with the Wreath Laying Ceremony at the Monument of General Paulino Santos to pay tribute and to honor our city’s glorious history.
All other events are canceled until further notice!
Despite these cancellations, we want to assure everyone that the city remains free from the threat of the 2019-nCoV ARD.
Magandang Gensan and God bless us all!
