South Cotabato is Philippines' 9th most competitive province

Another laurel has been added to the Province of South Cotabato under the leadership of Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr. as the province emerged as the 9th Most Competitive Province in the country as revealed during the 10th Cities and Municipalities Competitive Summit held at the PICC in Pasay City, Thursday, October 20, 2022.

South Cotabato is the only province from Region 12 and one of the five provinces from Mindanao that made it to this year's top 10 list of most competitive provinces in the country.

The Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index is an annual ranking of Philippine cities and municipalities developed by the National Competitiveness Council and the Department of Trade and Industry through the Regional Competitiveness Committees (RCCs) with the assistance of the United States Agency for International Development.

The ranking of each Local Government Units (LGUs) is measured through their performance on Economic Dynamism, Government Efficiency, Infrastructure, Resiliency, and Innovation.

Meanwhile, the City of Koronadal, and the municipalites of Polomolok and Norala also ranked in the Top 10 in certain categories of competitiveness. The City of Koronadal ranked 3rd in Resiliency Category, Polomolok ranked 10th in Economic Dynamism Category, and Norala ranked 5th in Government Efficiency.
