Bloggers visits the Summer Capital of the South

Eighteen (18) bloggers from all over the Philippines had experienced the magnificent culture, wonderful nature and exciting adventures in South Cotabato as part of the fourth conduct of the SOCCSKSARGEN Experience Tour (SEx Tour 4.0). They visited Lake Sebu in South Cotabato last September 4  for "South Cotabato High" the South Cotabato leg of the 5-day tour around SOCCSKSARGEN. Below are some of the things they've seen and experienced first hand in Lake Sebu - the "Summer Capital of the South".

The Waterfalls of Lake Sebu

Their first destination was one of South Cotabato's scenic destinations- the series of seven majestic waterfalls popularly known as the Seven Falls . Five of the seven falls are accessible and four of them can be seen while riding the seven falls zipline. The first of the Seven Falls of Lake Sebu is  named Dongon Falls or Hikung Alu for the locals (Hikung is a T'boli word which means "falls" and Alu for "passage" ). Hikung Alu is also the widest and the easiest to reach.
Hikung Alu, the first of the seven waterfalls of Lake Sebu
Hikong Bente (immeasurable falls) or the second falls is the highest among the seven waterfalls and drops more than 70 meters.
Hikung B'lebel (zigzag falls), Hikung Lowig (booth falls) and Hikong K'Foi (short falls) can be viewed while riding the zipline.
The Seven Falls Zip Line

Bloggers also tried the Seven Falls Zipline. It is considered as the highest zipline in South East Asia at 180 meters. The first leg of the Seven Falls Zipline is 740 meters long (40 seconds) and the second leg is 420 meters (20 seconds), all passing the four gushing and magnificent waterfalls (Falls 2-5).

Tilapia Overload

After experiencing the Seven Falls Zipline, bloggers were treated to a tilapia overload prepared for lunch by Mountain Lake Eco Resort. Tilapia is Lake Sebu's main product.

Lake Tour

Bloggers also experienced a 45-minute boating tour around Lake Sebu after their lunch. While they're on board the boat, a story about Lake Sebu was narrated by the tour guide.

Meet and Greet Lang Dulay

The last part of the Lake Sebu tour was a visit to Lang Dulay - a National Living Treasure awardee for T'nalak weaving. She is considered as the master dreamweaver of T'nalak - a woven cloth made from abaca by the T'boli women and has become the cultural emblem of the province of South Cotabato.

SOCCSKSARGEN Experience Tour participants with Lang Dulay.
South Cotabato News and South Cotabato.Org together with the organizers of the SOCCSKSARGEN Experience Tour 4.0 (Project O! Consultants and Gensantos.Com)  would like to thank South Cotabato Governor Hon. Arthur "Dodo" Y. Pingoy, Jr. for sponsoring the lunch, the boating tour, the zipline ride and the tokens for all the participants.
