Thousands of athletes and coaches from all over Mindanao are now in the City of Koronadal for the 2015 Batang Pinoy Mindanao Qualifying Leg.
The sports event which officially kicked off yesterday, October 24 and will run until October 29 showcases qualifying games for arnis, athletics, badminton, basketball 3-on-3, boxing, chess, dancesport, futsal, karatedo, lawn tennis, sepak takraw, softball, swimming, taekwondo, table tennis, wrestling, and volleyball.

Participating athletes are expected to showcase their best to qualify in the upcoming Batang Pinoy National Finals to be held in Cebu on November 27- December 2..
Earlier, Mayor Peter B. Miguel has assured that the city is ready and has sufficient fund in hosting the event. He also added that the city's hosting of national events like this is part of the LGU's efforts to show that Koronadal City and South Cotabato are peaceful and are prime destinations in this part of the country.
Last August, the City of Koronadal has also successfully hosted the International Folklore Festival which was participated by hundreds of performers coming from 10 countries.
The city PNP has also assured the public of their readiness to provide security and safety to all athletes, DepEd officials and other attendees and visitors.
