#BROWNOUT: Parts of South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat to experience 9-hour brownout

Member consumers of SOCOTECO-1 in South Cotabato and some areas in Sultan Kudarat should be ready for a 9-hour brownout on Saturday, October 21, 2017. 

In a power advisory posted on Facebook last Friday by South Cotabato Electric Cooperative- 1 (SOCOTECO-1), the power outage will be from 8 AM - 5 PM and will affect their entire coverage area.

The brownout, SOCOTECO-1 said, is due to "preventive maintenance" which include the following: 

1. Replacement of rotten 69kV structures 
2. 69kV Sub-transmission line clearing  
3. Energization of the remaining Feeders 94 & 95 at Banga Substation 
4. Tapping of 69kV line for 10MVA Biotech Feedmill Substation, Dumadalig, Tantangan and Biotech Farm Substation, Banga and 
5. Ride on activities of Area Maintenance, TSD Construction and Power Metering Section

SOCOTECO-1 covers the municipalities of Tampakan, Tantangan, Banga, Norala, Surallah, Tboli, Sto. Nino and Lake Sebu in South Cotabato, Lutayan town in the Province of Sultan Kudarat and the City of Koronadal.
