Pres. Marcos designates Governor Tamayo as NAPC Vice Chairperson


President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. has designated South Cotabato Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr as Vice Chairperson for Government Sector of the National Anti-Poverty Commission.

The official Facebook page of Governor Tamayo posted on Thursday, April 13 the letter of designation from Malacanang dated April 12, 2023 and signed by the president.

"Pursuant to the provisions of existing laws, you are hereby designated VICE CHAIRPERSON FOR GOVERNMENT SECTOR, NATIONAL ANTI-POVERTY COMMISSION."

The National Anti Poverty Commission (NAPC) was established to serve as the coordinating and advisory body for the implementation of the social reform and poverty reduction programs of the national and local governments and ensures that marginalized sectors participate in government decision-making processes.

As the vice-chairperson for the Government Sector (with 25 national government agencies and presidents of the 4 leagues of local governments as members), Governor Tamayo shall assist President Marcos, who also chairs NAPC, together with another vice-chairperson for the Basic Sectors (with representatives from the 14 basic sectors as members). NAPC is supported by a Secretariat, which is currently headed by Lead Convenor Lope B. Santos III.

Governor Tamayo thanked the president for the trust and his new designation.

Tayo'y lubos na nagpapasalamat sa tiwala, at para sa pagkakataon na makapagbigay ng TAMA at MAAYOS na serbisyo di lamang sa ating mga kababayan sa South Cotabato kundi pati narin sa buong bansa."
