The South Cotabato Police Provincial Office (SCPPO) has pinpointed 22 barangays in the province as areas of concern for the forthcoming Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) 2023. This announcement came from PCol Cydric Earl Tamayo, the Provincial Director.

The designations as election areas of concern were reached through a rigorous validation process conducted by the Intelligence Committee, which includes members from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP).

These 22 barangays encompass eight (8) from Tboli, seven (7) from Polomolok, five (5) from Lake Sebu, and two (2) from Banga. PD Tamayo emphasized the importance of giving special attention to these areas to ensure effective monitoring and prevent any potential disturbances on the election day, scheduled for October 30, 2023.

In light of these concerns, the provincial director appealed to the public for their cooperation, highlighting that community engagement is vital to guarantee a peaceful and secure election.
