South Cotabato governor leads 6th LPP General Assembly, highlights crucial provincial concerns

South Cotabato Governor and League of Provinces of the Philippines (LPP) President Reynaldo Tamayo Jr. spearheaded the 6th LPP General Assembly, a significant gathering attended by governors from various provinces. The event took place Thursday, March 14, 2024 at The Westin Hotel, Ortigas Center, Mandaluyong City, serving as a platform for robust discussions on pressing provincial issues.

Center of discussions during the assembly was the presentation of Priority Programs by the Department of Health (DOH) and LGU Health Concerns, delivered by UHC Policy and Strategy Cluster DOH Assistant Secretary Leonita P. Gorgoian. Additionally, Updates on Programs and Policies affecting LGUs from the Department of Finance (DOF) were elucidated by DOF Legal Affairs Office Undersecretary Bayani H. Agabin.

Secretary Manuel M Bonoan provided insights into forthcoming policies and programs under the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) aimed at provincial and local government implementation. Furthermore, PhilHealth President Emmanuel R. Ledesma Jr. discussed pertinent updates and new guidelines concerning PhilHealth.

The assembly facilitated an open dialogue where governors had the opportunity to address pressing issues and seek necessary assistance in various aspects, notably finance, health, and infrastructure, pertinent to their respective provinces.

Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr., serving as the LPP National President, expressed gratitude for the active participation of chief executives from different provinces, acknowledging their invaluable contributions towards collective provincial development.

The 6th LPP General Assembly highlighted the joint endeavors among provincial leaders to tackle pressing issues and promote enhanced advancement and prosperity throughout the Philippines.
