Tupi IT Park set to catalyze economic growth in South Cotabato, says Governor Tamayo

Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. of South Cotabato has heralded the forthcoming Tupi IT Park as a transformative force, poised to unlock a wealth of economic opportunities not only within the province but also across Region 12.

Following President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.'s announcement of Tupi IT Park as a Special Economic Zone for IT development, Governor Tamayo underscored the park's potential to become a thriving hub for software development, IT services, call centers, and other business process outsourcing (BPO) ventures.

Strategically located along the national highway in Barangay Poblacion, the Tupi IT Park holds the promise of generating employment opportunities locally, thus mitigating the need for residents to seek job prospects in distant urban centers, particularly recent graduates with technology-related qualifications.

Governor Tamayo's vision extends beyond the IT Park's establishment, as he also aims to create an agro-industrial economic zone within the province. The impending construction of the IT Park is anticipated to catalyze positive economic spillovers, not only in Tupi and South Cotabato but also throughout Region 12.

By harnessing the benefits accorded to special economic zones, the Tupi IT Park is positioned to attract foreign investors seeking to establish BPO offices, among others, further bolstering the region's economic landscape.
