In a press conference on Monday, August 5, South Cotabato Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. has announced the planned rehabilitation and replacement of the existing rubberized oval track at the South Cotabato Sports Complex, emphasizing that the project is long overdue. The governor aims for the renovation to be completed by next year, ensuring that the facility meets the growing needs of athletes in the province.

"Actually, long overdue na at nararapat na talagang ipaayos, i-renovate ang ating Sports Complex. At by next year dapat matapos na," Governor Tamayo stated.

In addition to the improvements at the South Cotabato Sports Complex, Governor Tamayo revealed plans to construct additional rubberized oval tracks and sports complexes in Surallah for the Upper Valley area and in Tupi for the 1st District. These new facilities are intended to provide better access to sports amenities across the province, allowing more young athletes to develop their skills.

"Ang ating suporta sa sports at sa ating mga atleta ay andyan naman lagi," the governor affirmed, highlighting his administration's continuous commitment to sports and athletic development.

The planned upgrades and new facilities are expected to be a significant boost for the youth, providing them with more opportunities to excel in sports.

“Ang sports development abi madamo na siya mahatag sa mga kabataan, so isa na sa mga priorities naton,” Governor Tamayo emphasized, reiterating that sports development is among the top priorities of his administration.
