Governor Tamayo, Senator Villar seal PFP- Nacionalista Party alliance

On August 8, 2024, a historic alliance was formalized between the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) and the Nacionalista Party (NP) during a signing ceremony at the Brittany Hotel in Taguig City. The event was led by South Cotabato Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr., the National President of PFP, alongside Senator Mark Villar, the Executive Director of the Nacionalista Party.

The signing was witnessed by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., who is also the National Chairman of PFP, and NP President Manny Villar, along with Senator Cynthia Villar and other key officials and members from both parties.

Governor Tamayo, in his remarks, emphasized the importance of unity among the nation's political leaders.

This alliance with the Nacionalista Party marks the PFP's fourth major partnership with a national political party, following previous alliances with Lakas–Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD), the Nationalist People's Coalition (NPC), and the National Unity Party (NUP).

In his speech, President Marcos highlighted the broader significance of the alliance, stating that it goes beyond electoral strategies, aiming instead to strengthen the nation's foundations for better service to the Filipino people. "It is very gratifying to see that the big and influential and historical national parties of the Philippines have come to answer that call for unity," Marcos said.

The PFP, established in 2018 and chaired by President Marcos Jr., seeks to create a strong and united Filipino community through strategic alliances, all working together toward the administration’s vision of a "Bagong Pilipinas."

When asked about the upcoming midterm elections, Governor Tamayo noted that the party has yet to finalize its senatorial slate.
