Inauguration of SEC Koronadal Extension Office set to boost local economy

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) inaugurated its new extension office on Friday, September 20, 2024, located on the second floor of the South Cotabato Gymnasium and Cultural Center. This new office is expected to significantly improve access to essential services, such as company registration and compliance monitoring, for businesses and investors in South Cotabato, SOCCSKSARGEN, and neighboring areas.

The opening of the SEC Koronadal Extension Office eliminates the need for local businesses to travel to Davao City for SEC-related transactions, ensuring faster and more efficient processing of applications, inquiries, and complaints. This is seen as a major step toward promoting business growth and investment in the region.

Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr., who attended the inauguration, expressed optimism about the impact this office will have on the local economy. "This development will strengthen our collaboration with key agencies and local government units to support economic growth and empower local entrepreneurs. Together, we aim to solidify South Cotabato's role as a vibrant economic hub in Mindanao."

The inauguration was also graced by SEC Chairperson Emilio B. Aquino, alongside Commissioners Javey Paul D. Francisco, Karlo S. Bello, McJill Bryant T. Fernandez, and other SEC officials.

The establishment of this office highlights the government’s commitment to decentralizing services and ensuring equitable access to essential services across regions, which is expected to accelerate business development in South Cotabato and beyond.
