Governor Tamayo prioritizes sustainable Free Hospitalization Program, announces new expansion plans for provincial hospital

South Cotabato Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr. recently shared exciting updates regarding the nearing completion of the South Cotabato Provincial Hospital extension building, emphasizing the province’s commitment to improving healthcare services.

Governor Tamayo announced that an additional P300 million is being proposed for the construction of another building at the provincial hospital. This is part of a broader vision to expand the hospital's capacity.

"We are expanding the provincial hospital further because I want us to be able to cater to more than 1,000 patients," Tamayo said.

In line with the provincial government's efforts to enhance healthcare, Governor Tamayo also discussed plans to strengthen the Universal Health Care (UHC) program. He emphasized the importance of electronic medical records for South Cotabateños, which will improve efficiency and streamline services.

"We are looking to enhance the implementation of Universal Health Care in our province. Every resident should have electronic medical records, so we can improve our free hospitalization program and ensure quicker interventions before hospitalization is even necessary," he stated.

The governor stated that the goal is to make healthcare services sustainable and accessible to all, ensuring the continuity of free hospitalization.

"We are working to make our free hospitalization program sustainable," Tamayo added, expressing his hope that these health programs will continue even beyond his term.

"My dream is that when I am no longer governor, the programs we started, especially in health services, will continue. This is one of the most important areas that the government should focus on," he said.

Governor Tamayo also stressed the importance of proper implementation to ensure government funds are utilized effectively. "The government has enough funds; the key is implementing our projects and programs correctly and efficiently," he concluded.
