BAWAL IPA-RAFFLE! Governor Tamayo Warns Against Politicians Using Government Aid for Political Purposes

South Cotabato Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr. has raised concerns over reports of government financial assistance being misused by certain politicians for political raffles. In an interview, Governor Tamayo emphasized that funds from programs like AKAP, TUPAD, and AICS are taxpayer money intended solely for those in need, and should never be used for political gain.

“Ang mga ayuda galing sa gobyerno, lahat ng yan pera ng taumbayan, na dapat lamang ibigay doon sa nangangailangan at hindi dapat gamitin sa pulitika at personal na interes,” he said, making it clear that holding raffles with public funds is both unacceptable and prohibited. “Ang AKAP, TUPAD, AICS, at iba pa... hindi dapat yan ipinapa-raffle. Bawal yan. Hindi pwede yan,” he added.

The governor called on political candidates to present solid platforms and earn the public’s support through transparent and genuine commitments rather than misusing aid intended for the community’s welfare. He reminded those in public service that “Pera yan ng taumbayan di dapat ginagamit sa raffle,” adding that politicians should use their own resources if they wish to support their campaigns.

Governor Tamayo also urged government agencies to investigate these allegations and take action to protect public funds.

This call for accountability reinforces Governor Tamayo’s commitment to ethical governance, aiming to ensure that assistance programs reach South Cotabateños fairly and without political interference.
