Governor Tamayo Lauds PBGEN Gulmatico’s Legacy During Retirement Honors

South Cotabato Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr., Chairperson of the Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC), joined law enforcement leaders and dignitaries in honoring Police Brigadier General (PBGEN) James E. Gulmatico for his 31 years of exemplary service during his Retirement Honors held on November 15, 2024, at the PRO-12 Grandstand in Camp Gen. Paulino T. Santos, Tambler, General Santos City.

PBGEN Gulmatico, Officer-In-Charge of Police Regional Office (PRO) 12 and a member of the PNPA "SANDIGAN" Class of 1994, is set to retire on November 17, 2024.

Governor Tamayo, in his speech, praised PBGEN Gulmatico’s resilience and dedication throughout his career. "It was not an easy journey for PBGEN Gulmatico to reach his position, but he persevered. May his story serve as an inspiration to our police force," the governor remarked.

Highlighting the unity and excellence established under PBGEN Gulmatico’s leadership, Governor Tamayo added, "As RPOC Chairperson, I am deeply pleased with the exceptional performance of PRO-12 under his command. We owe the peace we enjoy to your efforts, which ensures the sustained development and progress of our region."

The ceremony, presided over by PLTGEN Michael John F. Dubria, Acting Deputy Chief of the PNP for Operations, featured an audio-visual presentation showcasing PBGEN Gulmatico’s remarkable journey and achievements. Awards and mementos were also presented to the honoree in recognition of his outstanding contributions to law enforcement.

PBGEN Gulmatico, in his valedictory address, expressed heartfelt gratitude to his colleagues and supporters throughout his career. As part of the ceremony, he formally detached his PNP badge, symbolizing the conclusion of his illustrious journey in police service.

Governor Tamayo’s presence and message highlighted the high regard and admiration for PBGEN Gulmatico’s leadership, which has left a lasting legacy for the police force and the communities he served.
