The Provincial Government of South Cotabato was honored with the Special Unit Award for Local Government Unit – Provincial Government Level during the 124th Police Service Anniversary held yesterday, August 12, 2025 at Camp Crame, Quezon City.

The award was personally conferred by His Excellency, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., alongside Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jonvic Remulla and Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Police General Nicolas Torre III.

The recognition was given in acknowledgment of the provincial government’s unparalleled support to the South Cotabato Police Provincial Office and its personnel—a level of commitment that has set a benchmark for local government–police partnerships nationwide.

Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr., who received the award on behalf of the province, expressed gratitude to the PNP for the honor, emphasizing that the accolade is a shared achievement with all South Cotabateños.

“This award is a testament to our collective dedication to peace, order, and security. It belongs to every South Cotabateño who works hand-in-hand with our police to keep our communities safe,” Governor Tamayo said.

The 124th Police Service Anniversary commemorates the founding of the police service in the country and serves as a platform to recognize outstanding contributions of individuals and institutions in advancing law enforcement and public safety.
