South Cotabato’s Pride: Brittany Pauline Tamayo to Represent Philippines at 15th YONEX Junior Golf Championship in Japan

South Cotabato’s very own Brittany Pauline Tamayo, alongside fellow Filipina golfer Nicole Gan, is set to proudly represent the Philippines at the upcoming 15th YONEX Junior Golf Championship 2025, to be held from August 5 to 7 at the prestigious YONEX Country Club in Niigata, Japan.

A designated practice round is scheduled on August 4, prior to the official start of the international tournament.

Hosted by YONEX Co., Ltd., in partnership with the Japan Golf Association and the Niigata Golf Federation, the tournament brings together some of the world’s best junior golfers for a showcase of talent, skill, and sportsmanship.

Nicole and Brittany will be competing in Class A & B divisions, with hopes of not only bringing home honors for the country but also securing potential qualification spots for the 2026 YONEX Ladies Tournament and the Organizer Selection Tournament.

This marks a proud moment for Philippine golf, as these two young athletes carry the nation’s colors on an international stage. Their participation also highlights the growing presence of Filipino talent in the world of junior golf.

Brittany’s father, John Paul Tamayo — brother of South Cotabato Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo, Jr. — must be beaming with pride as she carries both the Tamayo name and the Philippine flag onto the international stage.

Mabuhay and good luck, Brittany and Nicole!
