Tamayo formally assumed the role during the joint induction ceremony of EMCRC Classes R12-2026-09 and R12-2026-10 "Orion", held in General Santos City, Tuesday, April 7, 2026.
In accepting the position, the governor expressed appreciation for the trust bestowed upon him, emphasizing that the role comes with a shared responsibility to uphold discipline, unity, and accountability among riders.
“As President, I look forward to guiding our class in promoting responsible riding and strengthening camaraderie, all in pursuit of safer roads for our communities,” Tamayo said.
The event also saw the induction of Class R12-2026-10 led by President Roelle Aradanas, Regional Director of the Department of Social Welfare and Development Region XI.
The ceremony was led by Mayor Randy Ecija, who served as Inducting Officer, Guest of Honor, and Speaker, stressing the importance of discipline and leadership in ensuring road safety.
Organized by the Philippine National Police Highway Patrol Group Region 12, the EMCRC continues to equip participants with advanced riding skills and leadership values.
With Governor Tamayo at the helm, EMCRC Class R12-2026-09 is expected to play a key role in advancing a culture of responsible riding and safer road practices in the region.
