Koronadal city tankers lead day- 1 of swimming competition

Koronadal city tankers take the lead on the initial 20 - events of the swimming competition on day 1 of the Cotabato Regional Athletic Association (CRAA) Meet at the Olympic-sized swimming pool inside the South Cotabato Sports Complex.

Garnering 192 points, Koronadal City left South Cotabato delegation with 50 points behind which comes second with 142 point score. General Santos is yet to show off their winning form on day 2 with the remaining 40-events after they came in third with only 94 points. Cotabato province has so much to catch up for its 52 points and so are other athletic delegations.

Koronadal City collected a whooping 11 Gold medals, 12 silvers and 3 bronzes.

All time Palaro attraction Tiara Beboney Tudio contributed two gold medals courtesy of her speedy 200 meter breaststroke and 200 m Butterfly for secondary girls. Earl John Tablizo also garnered two Gold medals for his 100 m backstroke and 200 m medley relay for (Boys) Elementary.

Other gold medalists who contributed to the lead were Mario Madero, 200 m Freestyle ; JuneIlian Roger Bamboa, 50 m Breaststoke ; and 200 m medley relay played by Symon Lanz Ylustre, Keith Glennjoy Tuya, Marc Joven Madero and Earl John Tablizo for Elementary Boys category; Ellainecatte Yap, 100 m Backstroke (Girls) Secondary; Arvin Clyne Pormilos, 200 m Butterfly (Boys) Secondary; Ruliben Deligero, 200 m Breast stroke (Boys ) Secondary; Marc Joven Madero, Bonifacio Pagunsan and Arvyn Clyne, 200 m Medley (Boys) Secondary; Ellainecatte Yap, Jeammie Kate Lao, Precious Myth Santos, 200 m Medley relay (Girls )Secondary.

Their winning is a sure way ticket to the 2011 Palarong Pambansa in Dapitan City, Zamboanga del Norte on May 8 -14.

South Cotabato delegation garnered only three gold medals, 5 silvers and 10 bronze; while General
Santos City also came in third with five gold, 3 silver and 4 bronze medals.

GenSan’s Palaro record breaker Omar Philip Dacera maintained his momentum for his 400 m freestyle (Boys) Secondary, but settled only third place on his 200 m breaststroke event.

Koronadal City delegation emerged as the over-all champion and third placer in Boys and Girls Elementary category respectively during the 2010 CRAA Meet held at Calumpang Sports Complex in General Santos City. It was however declared as third placer in the Secondary Division (Boys and Girls)
category.

General Santos City on the otherhand was declared champion in the Secondary Division (Boys and Girls); while South Cotabato went second placer for (Girls and Boys) Secondary.

As the games continue today, more actions await spectators at the poolside as these tankers will vie again for more medals on the remaining 40- events.
