Our very own Miss Universe- Philippines Maxine Medina also wore a tnalak-inspired creation by Davao-based designer Alfonso "Boy" Guinoo.
T'nalak is the fabric made from abaca handwoven by Tboli women. It is the ultimate cultural emblem of the Province of South Cotabato.
Aside from the Tboli weaves which represented SOX or SOCCSKSARGEN Region, other Mindanao fabrics showcased in the Miss Universe candidates fashion show in Davao includes the indigenous cross-stitches from CARAGA Region, Yakan weaves, the tribal weaves of Bukidnon, the royal garb of Mandaya tribe and the Inaul from the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
A pre-show was also held at the foyer wherein creations by SOX designers Ivan Raborar and Wilfred Yee were showcased. Check out the following photos below courtesy of SOXph.Com.
