WestMinCom Commander, Maj. Gen. Crespillo, strengthens ties with South Cotabato Governor during courtesy visit


Major General Steve Crespillo, the Commander of Western Mindanao Command (WestMinCom), made a courtesy call to South Cotabato Governor Reynaldo Tamayo at the Provincial Capitol on October 24, 2023.

During their meeting, both Major General Crespillo and Governor Tamayo expressed mutual appreciation and recognition for their collaborative efforts aimed at promoting peace and development in South Cotabato. They affirmed their commitment to sustaining this vital partnership into the future.

A focal point of their discussion revolved around ensuring the safety, organization, and overall success of the upcoming Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections in South Cotabato. They deliberated on the necessary measures to be undertaken in preparation for the election process.

Major General Crespillo's visit to South Cotabato was accompanied by key military figures, further highlighting the military's collaborative engagement in the region. These individuals included Major General Alex Rillera, the Commander of the 6th Infantry Division; Brigadier General Andre Santos, Commander of the 1st Mechanized Infantry Brigade; Colonel Wendell Basat, Assistant Chief of Unified Command Staff for Civil-Military Operations of WestMinCom; and Lieutenant Colonel Carlyleo Nagac, Battalion Commander of the 5th Special Forces Battalion.

This courtesy call between Major General Crespillo and Governor Tamayo stands as a testament to their shared commitment to promoting peace, stability, and development not only within the Province of South Cotabato but also the whole region. Governor Tamayo is also the Chairperson of the Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC) in Region 12. Their collaborative efforts continue to strengthen the foundations for a brighter and more secure future in the region.
