The oathtaking ceremony, held at Tupi Municipal Hall, was presided over by Tupi Mayor Romeo Tamayo. South Cotabato Governor Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr., his wife, their other children, and the seven appointed barangay council members were present to witness the significant event.
Charlton Rey Tamayo, the 19-year-old son of Governor Tamayo, is taking on his new role with great enthusiasm and ambitious plans for the barangay's future. Despite his youth, he has a clear vision for developing the newly-created barangay and improving the lives of its residents, many of whom come from low-income families.
The creation of Barangay Juan Loreto Tamayo was ratified through a plebiscite held on July 13, 2024, reflecting the community's desire for better local governance and representation. Located in a remote area of Tupi, the barangay faces unique challenges. However, with the strong support of his father, Governor Tamayo, Charlton Rey is determined to meet these challenges head-on.
Governor Tamayo expressed pride in his son's commitment to public service and his readiness to lead.
With the support of his family and the community, Charlton Rey Tamayo is well-positioned to address the challenges and leverage the opportunities that come with his new role, setting the stage for future political endeavors and significant contributions to the province.
