The official turnover ceremony took place during the Monday Convocation on February 17, 2025, at the Provincial Capitol Covered Court. The event was led by South Cotabato Governor Hon. Reynaldo S. Tamayo Jr., together with Vice Governor Hon. Arthur Y. Pingoy Jr., and members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan. The donations were formally received by PCOL Samuel T. Cadungon, Provincial Director of SCPPO, in the presence of other government officials and personnel.
Enhancing Mobility and Response Capabilities
The Toyota GL Grandia Van will serve as an essential resource for SCPPO’s law enforcement operations, emergency response, and community patrols. Governor Tamayo emphasized that this initiative aligns with his administration’s priority to ensure peace, order, and public safety across the province.
"This vehicle is not just for transportation; it is an investment in public safety and security. Our police force plays a crucial role in maintaining peace, and we will continue providing the necessary support to enhance their mobility and efficiency in serving the people of South Cotabato," Governor Tamayo said.
Strengthening Disaster Preparedness
Aside from the patrol van, the SCPPO also received disaster risk reduction supplies, further equipping law enforcement officers to assist in disaster response and emergency situations. The donated items include first aid kits, rescue equipment, and other emergency response materials.
"Disaster preparedness is a shared responsibility, and the police force is a vital partner in ensuring the safety of our communities during calamities. These additional supplies will enhance SCPPO’s capability in disaster risk reduction and emergency response," Tamayo added.
A Commitment to Public Service
PCOL Samuel T. Cadungon expressed gratitude for the continued support of the provincial government, reaffirming SCPPO’s dedication to ensuring public safety and disaster resilience.
"This support strengthens our capability to serve and protect the people of South Cotabato. We are thankful to Governor Tamayo and the provincial government for their unwavering commitment to law enforcement and disaster risk reduction efforts," PCOL Cadungon said.
Sustained Investments in Security and Emergency Response
Under Governor Tamayo’s leadership, the Provincial Government of South Cotabato has consistently provided support to law enforcement agencies and disaster response teams, ensuring that they are equipped to fulfill their duties effectively.
This initiative is part of the broader efforts to build a safer, more prepared, and resilient South Cotabato, where law enforcement, emergency responders, and local communities work together in ensuring peace, order, and disaster preparedness.
